Though the core human body temperatures is maintained at 37°C, parts of our bodies experience frequent fluctuations in temperature and our cells must rapidly adapt to these changes in order to survive. I am interested in studying the quality control mechanisms that are utilised by our cells in order to maintain fidelity of essential biochemical processes (such pre-mRNA splicing) under mild cold stress (32°C to 28°C).
